History
In 2012, Jack Vercollone, the owner and operator of the family-run Verc Car Rental in Plymouth, Massachusetts, envisioned a mobile inspection tool to manage his rental fleet more effectively.
Having suffered financial losses from minor damages discovered at auto auctions—with no way to prove when or how the damage occurred—Jack set out to create a solution that could clearly identify who caused damage and when it happened.
In 2013, Jack partnered with Extension Engine, a development team with roots at MIT and Harvard, to build a digital inspection platform.
By 2014, the product—DAMAGE iD—was officially launched at the International Car Rental Show in Las Vegas.
In 2018, Charlie Dalsass joined the team as a partner. (Charlie is the president of iQtransit, Inc a Massachusetts software consulting firm.)
In 2020, Chandrahas Boorela joined the team, further enhancing the platform’s capabilities.

In 2023, we began investing in our flagship AI product, DAMAGE iD AI. AI is now integrated as a module within DAMAGE iD’s product – offering an additional product pathways in the future.
Today, DAMAGE iD’s flagship product, is a recognized player in the digital vehicle inspection market.
