At DAMAGE iD, the strength of the platform comes from the people behind it. In this edition of our Meet the Team series, we are highlighting Chandrahas Boorela, a key leader who plays a major role in shaping the technology, performance, and future of the product.
From Developer to CTO
Chandrahas began his journey in the United States, earning his degree in Computer Science from UMass Lowell in 2020. Shortly after graduating, he started working at IQ Transit, where DAMAGE iD was one of his clients.
What began as a project quickly turned into something more.
“I started working with DAMAGE iD as a client, and then I just continued,” he explains. “Over time, I became more involved, and eventually stepped into a larger role within the company.”
Today, Chandrahas serves as CTO of DAMAGE iD and is based in Hyderabad, India. His growth within the company reflects both his technical expertise and his deep understanding of the product.
Driving the Technology Behind DAMAGE iD
As CTO, Chandrahas oversees the technical foundation of the platform. His responsibilities include managing infrastructure, leading development teams, and ensuring the product remains stable, scalable, and effective.
“I used to do everything early on,” he says. “Now I focus more on infrastructure, new features, and managing developers across Android, iOS, and backend systems.”
He also plays a role in shaping the product roadmap, exploring integrations, and helping guide the overall vision of DAMAGE iD.
A Hands-On Approach to Innovation
One of Chandrahas’s strengths is his ability to connect systems and ideas.
“I enjoy integrations the most,” he says. “I like connecting different pieces and making them all work together.”
That mindset has helped DAMAGE iD evolve into a flexible and adaptable platform that works across multiple industries.
Working in a smaller company has also given him a unique perspective.
“You don’t just build a feature and move on,” he explains. “You understand why it is built, how customers use it, and how it performs in the market.”
Solving Challenges in Real Time
With responsibility for the technical side of the platform comes pressure, especially when issues arise.
“When something goes down or stops working, that is the most challenging part,” he says. “You have to debug quickly, find the issue, and fix it as fast as possible.”
These moments are where experience and problem solving come together, ensuring customers can rely on the platform every day.
Proud Moments and Customer Impact
For Chandrahas, one of the biggest milestones was stepping into the CTO role after starting as a developer.
But beyond titles, what stands out most is customer success.
“When customers start using the product and they appreciate it, that is what makes me proud,” he says. “Because we built it, and seeing it make a difference matters.”
What Makes DAMAGE iD Different
According to Chandrahas, one of the company’s biggest advantages is its size and approach.
“We are a smaller company, and that allows us to build real relationships with our customers,” he explains. “It is not just a vendor relationship. Customers can reach out directly, share feedback, and feel heard.”
This hands-on, personal approach continues to set DAMAGE iD apart in the industry.
Simplifying Damage Management
When asked how he would explain DAMAGE iD to someone new, Chandrahas focuses on simplicity and peace of mind.
“It helps you stay organized and track everything,” he says. “You do not have to worry about disputes or missing damage because everything is documented and easy to access.”
Looking Ahead: Growth and Innovation
Chandrahas sees a strong future for DAMAGE iD as the company continues to expand into new industries and use cases.
“We are growing steadily and adding features that apply to different domains like fleet, rental, and logistics,” he says.
He is especially excited about the role of AI in the platform’s future.
“AI is everywhere right now, but I believe in focused AI,” he explains. “Instead of using large, general tools, we want to build solutions that are optimized for specific tasks like damage detection.”
This targeted approach helps keep the platform efficient, scalable, and practical for real-world use.
Life Outside of Work
Outside of his role, Chandrahas has a wide range of interests. He is a musician who plays tabla, drums, and sings. He also enjoys building things, flying drones, and traveling.
“I like adventure,” he says. “I enjoy activities like hiking, swimming, and exploring new places.”
When describing himself, he keeps it simple: fun, adventurous, and curious.
A Personal Connection to DAMAGE iD
For Chandrahas, DAMAGE iD is more than just a job.
“This was my first client and my first real experience,” he says. “The team has always treated me like family, more like mentors than just coworkers.”
That connection continues to motivate him every day.
Final Thoughts
Chandrahas is driven by growth, both for himself and for the company.
“Making the business grow and building features that customers actually need is what motivates me,” he says.
His advice to customers and future users is straightforward.
“Choose the right tool that helps you in the long run, both financially and operationally. Once you use a proper damage inspection solution, you will see its value.”
